“We were so impressed with the VANKLAVERENs, we had two auctions!”

In August 2016, with their intent to slow their farming operations down, they sold numerous items including tractors, farm machinery, and related effects with Youcanbid.ca and its Online Only Bidding. In 2020, Dave and Jo Anne decided to retire, and with the effectiveness and efficiency of their first Youcanbid auction, they had a second, which was equally effective.

When selling the family farm after two generations Bernie and Linda Brouwer had to deal with the prospect of liquidating their farm machinery, tools and many other items. It was obvious they had to have an Auction. They envisioned pickups and plaid as far as the eye can see, with mud and lots of activity. And of course hot dogs, coffee and plenty of socializing.

When John went to visit them in December of 2019, they hadn’t even considered an Online Auction. Wow, sounds good, Bernie thought, thousands of buyers, very organized and secure, so efficient and maximum returns. Let’s do it!

However, as the winter progressed, he had second thoughts and felt more comfortable with the tried and true method of a live auction. A date was set for late March and preparation began. Then the planet dramatically changed. Everyone is affected, safety is a priority and shutdowns began.
In reaching out to Bernie, he was just made aware that their church had cancelled services for that following Sunday. It was a natural decision to again move forward with an online Auction. The Online Auction was a success in every way and, in Bernie’s words:

“We received the check this morning and the total amount was a nice surprise. It was great to work with you.”

In August of 2010 Jim and Diane Peltier booked their Live Farm  Auction with John and Joyce at VANKLAVEREN Auctions, for September of 2011. Jim said “We Just Love How They Do A Sale” It was a great lineup of farm machinery, many bidders and great prices.

With the passing of Diane in 2018 and then Jim in late 2019 their children James and Janice were now left with the task of selling the 50 acre farm and remaining machinery, household and related effects. It seemed logical to call on VANKLAVERENS once again and On April 11, 2020 in the midst of a pandemic the farm, equipment, household and related effects were all sold at Online Auction with Youcanbid.ca. “The results were far and above what we expected” and all conducted within safe policies. Larry and Donna Smale and many generations of Smales farmed between Petrolia and Brigden, On. While it was tough to decide to sell, it was easy to choose the right company and the right Auction. Having followed VANKLAVERENS online only auctions at youcanbid.ca for years and seeing the positive results it was decided to call John and setup an auction of their own. However they were more than pleasantly pleased at the ease of the Auction setup, promotion and Auction Time. The best surprise of all was the prices which far exceeded their expectations. Finally, the cleanup and post-auction dealings were very smooth and well managed. It is not often that a business provided a service worthy of a letter. But in this case, the Smales feel justified in doing so.
